Job Description

The European Union (EU) is a mix of cultures and economies that will reach its full potential through mutual understanding and close cooperation. That is why the EU supports cooperation in many ways — Interreg is the initiative specifically dedicated to helping European regions work together to tackle common economic, environmental, social and cultural challenges. There are 107 Interreg programmes managing thousands of cooperation projects throughout Europe who are dealing with these issues.

The Interact programme’s specific mission is to support these programmes in their daily work. So to help them successfully navigate the Interreg world, we provide advice, organise learning events and develop a wide range of tools on

The

Communication manager

will implement the communication strategy and activities of the Interact programme. He/she will actively liaise with Managing Authority and Coordination Board as a part of implementation of the tasks.

Key tasks

  • Promotion of Interact activities and the programme
  • Management and coordination of Interact online presence incl.
    • overall management of the Interact website and coordination of an effective communication of Interact services delivery with the support of the Interact Team
    • and development and coordination of the Interact social media strategy
  • Management and coordination of visual identity of the programme (graphic design, publications and promotional materials)
  • Development and coordination of ad hoc and periodic internal and external Interact Information tools like Newsflash and Newsletter
  • Liaise with service providers and ensure close monitoring of relevant outsourced communication activities
  • Support evaluation of the communication strategy of the programme
  • Promotion of Interact services and achievements in large events

In addition, the Communication manager will be involved in:

  • Liaising with European Institutions and other stakeholders
  • Responding to requests for information/support
  • Contributing to the development of the general strategy and work plan of Interact

Minimum requirements

  • Graduate or post graduate University degree in relevant discipline(s) (e.g. communication studies, media studies, journalism, European studies, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of communication work experience; experience in the field of communication of EU-funded or international programmes/projects is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Knowledge of graphic design software
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and giving presentations

Professional skills/assets

  • Working experience in Interreg programmes/projects
  • General knowledge on Cohesion Policy regulatory framework for programming period 2014-2020 related to communication
  • Experience in digital marketing and corporate branding
  • Knowledge of at least another EU language
