Intern Political Affairs

The internship is located in the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) at Vienna, Austria. The duration of internship is for six months starting in the end of January 2018.

The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of Office.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time.


The intern shall undertake the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:

  • support the substantive work of the Office and its cooperation on disarmament and non-proliferation, as well as a security culture, particularly in coordination with Vienna-based organisations
  • participate in meetings/conferences/seminars and prepare meeting reports
  • participate in the planning of specific UNODA projects (i.g., meetings, workshops, conferences and training courses
  • contribute to the preparation of background documents, presentations, summaries, talking points and speeches
  • conduct research on political and legal aspects of disarmament and non-proliferation
  • perform other tasks as necessary.
